Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 71

This time at Crafty Cardmakers, the challenge is set by AJ, and she wants us to make our own flowers.

We are sponsored this time by
and

$10 Gift Certificate for the Store

I was lucky enough to get a Digi Doodle Shop image to work with for this challenge, and chose the lovely Shady Window.

Isn't that a lovely image? I coloured it with Promarkers. The paper is from the Flower Power CD I've had for a while. Of course, since this is a 'make your own flowers' challenge, I went a little crazy, making various flowers using punched shapes.

Hope you can join us this week!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafts and Me where anything goes,
Charisma Cards where the theme is 'summer',
Delightful Challenges where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 119

This week at One Stitch at a Time, our theme is 'summer dresses'. So, what does that mean to you? Colours, florals, actual dresses ... it's up to you!

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen who's offering a £10 voucher to the lucky winner!

My card this week is 'Window' from My Heart Pieces, and it's a beautifully summery image.
I coloured the image with Promarkers, and cut it and the mat using nestibilities in my Wizard. The paper is from MME's Summer pad which was a magazine freebie last year, and the pretty floral design would make a lovely summer dress. The mat is some 'paper' which I picked up a while ago. It looks like a very thin wood veneer, but I actually have no idea whether it's paper or wood. It took more cutting than paper would, but didn't crack as I thought it might, and I think it works so well with all the woody tones in the image. The long-legged bird overlooking the scene is one of the embellishments that came with the paper pad.

Hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 118

This week at One Stitch at a Time, the challenge 'Stitch It'! That means you either use some stitching on your project, or you use an image from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. (Or both!)

Our sponsor this week is

and the lucky winner will win the set of images used by the design team this week.

My image comes from Ike's Digital Art and it's a lovely thatched cottage.

I coloured the image with Promarkers, and cut it with a Nellie Snellen die in my Wizard. I shaded the outside of the frame with Distress Ink in Crushed Olive. The paper is a Kate Knight floral, and the butterfly was cut using a Marianne die.

Hope you can join us this week.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 70

This challenge is set by Carole, and she wants us to make anything other than a card, ATC or tag!

We're sponsored this time by

I decided to move away from papercrafts altogether for this one, and made a bookmark.

Before I got into papercrafts, I did a lot of stitching. I started with cross stitch, but soon got sidetracked by Hardanger. I love the effect you get with cut areas, and using varigated threads just makes it even better!

Hope you can join us this time.

I'd like to enter this project into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly where anything goes,
Tando Creative where they want fabric,
Moving Along with the Times where they want anything but a card,
Frosted Designs where they want stitching,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 117

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we want you to make a card for one of the men in your life. Our sponsor this week is Creative Craft World who're offering the winner three Promarkers.

I chose to make a card for my eldest whose birthday is coming up this summer. He's off living the life of a young professional these days, having left his student days behind. For this week's project, I got to work with some beautiful papers from Panda Bear Designs called Painted Garden Spots and Stripes available from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps (link in my sidebar) and when I saw them I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

See what I mean? Those stripey papers just begged to be made into shirts! And of course, the advantage of digital papers is that I could shrink the pattern to fit the scale I wanted. the two spotty papers are also part of the set, and there are three other colours I didn't manage to fit into the card!

But of course, the card is for my son so I had to get a bit of a leg pull in there, so I did an insert too ...
Hope you can join us this week!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Kaboodle Doodles where they want male-themed cards,
Love to Create where they want something for a guy in our lives,
Digital Tuesday where anything goes (with a digital element.) (All papers and sentiments are digital.)

A New Sarah Kay Stamp

I treated myself to a couple of new Sarah Kay stamps the other day, and decided to get one inked and made into a card for an upcoming birthday.
I coloured the image with Promarkers (and Flexmarkers). The paper is a recent magazine freebie - 'From Me to You', I think, edged with Distress Ink. I stitched the greeting, and finished with a die cut made using an XCut die in my Wizard.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Ann's where 'it's a girl thing',
Frosted Designs where they want stitching,
Papercrafting Journey where they want to see a hand-coloured image,
Papertake Weekly where anything goes,

This week, I worked with an image from Lil Diva called Spring Vase. You can see the other images used if you check out the rest of the DT blogs.
