(Almost) a Last Batch of Christmas Cards

I've got a few more cards that I need to do for DT commitments, but other than those, I spent some time over the last few days finishing off my Christmas cards.

For these, I've used a stamp from Chocolate Baroque for the main image. I stamped in Memento ink and coloured with Promarkers. The background uses a stamp from Inky Doodles, again using Memento ink, and stamped the offset diamonds using Distress Ink in Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw. The sentiment is from Heartfelt creations and cut using Spellbinder dies. Both images are finished with a little Glamour Dust in gold.

These four all use stamps from Heartfelt Creations as well as Spellbinders dies. The images are coloured with Promarkers and highlighted using Glamour Dust, and use papers and various laces from my stash.

Again, the stamps are by Heartfelt Creations and the images are coloured with Promarkers, highlighted with Glamour Dust. Papers, ribbons and lace are from my stash.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 105

This time, our challenge is set by my team mate Viv, and she wants 'clean and simple'.

Our sponsors are:

See the challenge blog for prize details.

Now, I think my style tends towards 'clean and simple', but as with anything, there are degrees. I love my layers, patterned papers (although I don't like combining them) and I prefer a little embellishment especially when I use a simple image. But, for this challenge, one of Viv's requirements is 'white space', so I put on my thinking cap and came out of my comfort zone.

I paper pricked a dog rose image by Janet Wilson before die cutting and mounting it onto blue mirricard. I've stuck with a big expanse of white in the background, but felt it needed something to stop it 'bleeding off the edge of the card', so I matted with more mirror card leaving a very narrow border, and finished with some velour ribbon and a spot of glitter glue.

I hope you can join us this time.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge where anything goes,
Scrapper's Delight where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 191

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we've got a game for you. We want you to play Bingo!

Our sponsor this week is:
and you can win three Promarkers!

I decided to go for the line from top left to bottom right, but I also fulfilled the middle horizontal line!

I used an image from Pookie Designs called Pook Puck which is available from the Stitchy Bear shop.

So, I've used green, blue, dies, four layers and there's a little bit of Stickles at the centre of one of the flowers!

I coloured the image with Promarkers, including giving the image a peachy shadow, then added some Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers around the outside. The paper is from Paper Pizazz, and I also layered with a doily. The flowers and leaves were all die cut, and I used Promarkers and Distress Ink for detail on them.

I hope you can join us this week!

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 190

This week at One Stitch at a Time, we're having that best of all challenges - an anything goes!

We're sponsored by:

See the challenge blog for details.

This time, the image was chosen by my team mate Shell, and it's Inviting Hug from Reeses Scrap Pieces.

I used the ready-coloured version, and added a background and wording in Photoshop Elements before printing. I then used all three of the supplied paper designs to complete the card!

It's a very simple card, but still quite effective, I think. And let's face it, we often need to make simple cards - especially for Christmas when we're making a lot more than usual!

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cards for Men where the theme is 'Merry Christmas',
'C' is for Challenge where the theme is Christmas,
Deep Ocean where the theme is 'winter',
LEJ where the theme is 'Season's Greetings',
Papertake Weekly where the theme is 'snow and ice',
4 Krafty Girlz where anything goes,
Sister Act where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 189

This week at One Stitch at a Time, our challenge is 'Festivals'. Now, if you look on the challenge blog, then it'll say 'holidays' but I'm trying to avoid that word because it means something very different to me than what the challenge is really about. So, think of a festival ... Christmas, New Year, Guy Fawkes, Easter, even smaller festivals like Valentine's day or Hallowe'en, and make something for it.

The sponsor is
and you can win a range of images from various of the artists who sell through the shop.

I used an image from Cootsy Creations, and I made a Christmas card.

I coloured the image with Promarkers, but did the background using pastel colour applied with cotton buds. I've embossed the background using folders by Papermania and Sizzix, cut the image using a Spellbinder's die, and embellished with a Joanna Sheen Signature die.

I was going to use a Cuttlebug folder, but couldn't because those folders are just too small! They were the first on the market and as a result, I've got quite a few, but I rarely use them these days because they're such an odd size. They're too short for even an A6 card, and I rarely make anything that small. The small Sizzix folder I used is, at least, just big enough for 140mm which is the size I used here. The Papermania folder is 5 by 7 which is better, but these days, I'm only really buying square folders - so much better!

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

By Lori Designs where they want ribbons and bows,
Inky Impressions where they want dies and punches,
Whimsy where anything goes,
Papertake Weekly where anything goes,

One Stitch at a Time Challenge 188

This week at One Stitch at a Time, our challenge is to use a digi! Easy!

We're sponsored by
See the challenge blog for details.

This time, I got to choose an image from Sentimental Susan for Hazel, Shell and Lisa. I chose Bear Guitar, as I've got two guitar-playing sons and it appealed to my sense of humour.
I added the wording in Photoshop Elements, printed, and coloured with Promarkers. For the background, I embossed some pearlescent white card using folders from Crafter's Companion and, I think, Papermania. I matted with blue to match the text, and die cut some snowflakes from the same card using Cuttlebug and Spellbinders dies. I finished the snowflakes with glitter glue to add a bit of sparkle.

I hope you can join us this week.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments where anything goes,
Party Time Tuesdays where anything goes,
Lady Anne where anything goes with a stamp,
Crafty Hands where anything goes,
Sister Act where anything goes,
Aud Sentiments where they want Christmas sentiments,
Moving Along with the Times where they want no patterned paper
